There
are the little things that give such a great idea of what is actually going on,
and this chapter is no different. Mormon
declares here that the people did have continual peace for the space of three
years. Three years was a notable period
of peace for them. Can you imagine the
near constant warfare (often brewing just below the surface or on the margins,
but often exploding into larger conflict) that must have existed for a three
year period of peace to be noteworthy?
