There
are so many things that we look at in the world and we summarize them as
geopolitical (or even natural) that should ultimately be considered
spiritual. It wasn’t political unrest
that caused the iniquity, it was the iniquity that caused the political
unrest. I think that we often seek for
solution to the world’s problems in the ballot box (almost as a form of
idolatry) instead of recognizing that the only lasting and meaningful change
that can come to the world arises out of the individual repentance of the
people of the world (and, really, in no other way).
