There
is a key to everything in life in this chapter – the idea that we must turn to
the Lord with full purpose of heart, put our trust in Him, and serve Him with
all diligence of mind, and then we must wait. Just because we turn to Him does not obligate
Him to deliver us from our afflictions, bondage, and sufferings. We may trust that He will do what is best for
us in the end, but He will not do it on cue and at our demand – that is the
action of a servant, not a Savior. And
while He is the Servant of all, He is most importantly a Savior when we are
turning to Him. Our obligation is to do
our part and then be prepared to wait on Him.
