It was
interesting to me that even knowing the great wickedness that Athaliah had
performed, the priest recognized that she was not to be slain on the grounds of
the temple. I think there is a lesson to
take from that, both in our Ward and in our homes. We may feel like we have just reasons for
anger, bitterness, or revenge against someone. But in the Ward and in the home, we find
ourselves on sacred ground. As such, it
is important that we put aside these feelings and recognize that this is not
the place for vengeance.
