I was struck as I read through this chapter how often Isaiah was given prophecies for countries that rejected the Lord. This, to me, served as a reminder of the fact that the regardless of whether we worship God or not, and regardless of whether we believe in God or not, the Lord is our Lord. It is not a matter of choosing to obey the Lord – we have already made that decision before coming to this world. We committed to obey Him, whether we were born in
Tyre or Jerusalem
or Salt Lake City. The question, then, is whether we will carry
out the decision that we made before coming to this Earth.
