One
thing that seems pretty consistent is that the Lord very rarely tells us that
our times and our lives will be comfortable – He doesn’t say we will have peace
(at least in mortality). Our lives are
going to be lives of tremendous challenge until and unless the Lord determines
that we are no longer worth the effort. And the more I come to understand that, the
more gratitude I find in my life for the challenges that He is throwing in my
way. It really is true that who the Lord
loves He chastens.
