I can
only imagine what it must have been like to sing the songs of Zion while it captivity. Imagine singing “I Am a Child of God” while in
prison by those who mock and deride my faith. The truth is that those songs could still
bring comfort – they are true even if our circumstances might make them appear
untrue – but the contrast between our hope for deliverance and the reality of
our imprisonment would be hard to bear.
