Remembering
that the House of Israel
can be seen as a symbol for each of us, I was struck by Jacob’s language
concerning those who had been broken off and dwell on the isles of the
sea. I can empathize, in my current situation,
with the feeling of being Israel being found on the isles of the sea rather
than in Jerusalem, but Jacob reminds me that even in difficult situations it is
important that I do not hang my head because the Lord has made great promises
to the isles of the sea who stay true to Him.
And I trust He will do likewise in my situation.
