Alma 43

                Over and over again we discover from the scriptures that many times the miracle happens when the Lord whispers to a diligent servant to do ordinary things slightly differently, and these ‘small and simple things’ end up making all the difference in the world.  The Lord could have empowered Moroni to fight with such capacity that one man could stand against the Lamanites (see e.g. Ammon).  But He did not – instead He whispered to Moroni long, long before the need was apparent, to prepare heavy clothing and so forth to protect them from the Lamanites.

                So too, when our moment of crisis occurs, we may find ourselves calling out to the Lord for Divine intervention to protect us from injustice or hatred or any number of other evils.  It is worrisome to me that in that time I may be left alone because the Lord gave me the solution months or years ago and I wasn’t spiritually aware or diligently obedient enough to follow it.
