Alma 44

(April 20, 2015)
My thoughts today are similar to those from yesterday, but this time from the perspective of Zerahemnah.  Rather than acknowledge the hand of the Lord, he chose to believe it was the breastplates that saved Moroni.  It is difficult to know what to attribute to the hand of the Lord, and what lesson the Lord is trying to teach us, without the Spirit.  When things go wrong, it is because our actions were insufficient, the actions of those hostile to us were overwhelming, or is it the hand of the Lord?

The thing about it is, though, is that it always is the hand of the Lord.  In every circumstance.  The key for us is to remain close enough to Him in order to learn the lessons He is trying to teach us.  When things happen (even terrible things), we must remember to be grateful to Him and to trust in His plan.  If we have put forth our best efforts, we can then leave everything else to Him.
